Print Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

 

Directed 15-17 associates and casual labor in the production of time sensitive printed products and searchable CD ROMs.

 Managed customer service, electronic/IT dept., pre-press, graphic design, layout, CD production, digital print production, binding, stitching, perfect binding, case binding, coiling, punching, shrink wrapping, shipping and warehousing. Scheduled team and print queues for the timely production and manufacturing of books and CD-ROMs, predominantly for the Sci-Tech Industry (i.e. American Institute of Physics, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronomics, NASA). Other products included educational workbooks for McGraw Hill and periodicals for Foreign Affairs. Compliant with all of the OSHA standards and policies.

Worked on both MS and Apple platforms. Worked with Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, Quark Xpress, Xerox Digipath, and flatbed scanners. Operated Xerox digital printers Docutech 6135 and 6180, along with a Ricoh color copier. Operated bindery cutters, perfect binders and shrink wrappers. Practiced lean production methodologies as well as just in time supply ordering. Team collected all manner of data, including hard copy, tapes, CDs, DVDs and electronic files over the Internet and converted them into print-ready RDO files  to be pulled into our print department and placed into the print queue. 

Finished product was shipped all over the world.
